There’s plenty more, and I sat down with Lucasfilm creative executive Steve Blank, single player game director Mark Thompson and Criterion’s Matt Webster, who is helping overlook the multiplayer, to see what I could find out from them. We learned that unfortunately, the popular Galactic Conquest game mode of the early game franchise will not be making a comeback to Star Wars Battlefront 2. Mark Thompson, the game director, also confirmed the narrative of the single-player mode, stating that the campaign would begin with the Battle of Endor and end at Starkiller Base.
Steve Blank also clarified what looked to be a continuity error in the Emperor’s storyline in the trailer, stating that they are using The Messenger from the Shattered Empire comic. In an interview with Eurogamer, Steve Blank, the Lucasfilm creative executive answered a question about whether Jar Jar Binks will be returning as a villain or a hero, cryptically saying that “only time will tell.” A similar answer was given when the team was asked if original cast members would be returning to provide voice overs for the hero characters.
